A two-part event series ran in pop-up gallery spaces across New York and London and coincided with the cities’ respective Fashion Week festivals, to introduce festival-goers to the VSCO photography mobile app and creative community. Each event combined a traditional fashion photography exhibition with a creative social experience and photographic workshop.
The gallery spaces were equipped with a photography laboratory complete with work benches, high-tech macro-lensed cameras, and a library of experimentation materials that drew upon fashion innovations from luxury to the present day.
Visitors experimented to create and capture their own unique style impressions, and then shared those with the world via the VSCO mobile app. The wider exhibitions featured curated selections of photographs created by the VSCO users and also exhibited in Oakland and Tokyo.
VSCO provides tools, spaces and connections for self-expression, with a mission to “help everybody fall in love with their own creativity.” The twin events became part of the global fashion conversations, involving visitors from all over the world, to translate traditional fashion design into a spontaneous and social creative experience.
